Pricing
What it costs
Two numbers, both one time, both with the whole first year inside them. Anything beyond a website or a store is quoted after a call, because a printed number would be a guess.
Introductory prices for our first 25 US clients. After that the same two packages are $749 and $1,199.
Why these numbers, and why they are stated
We are an India-based studio, and these are our introductory US prices — set to earn our first wave of American clients rather than to squeeze them. We have built for a good number of Indian businesses. We have not yet built for an American one, and we would rather be honest about that than price as though we had.
The price is an entry offer. The work is not entry level. And we name what happens afterwards, because an introductory price with nothing stated after it is a word rather than a price.
Inside the price
The same first year applies to both packages.
- Design and build, by the same senior team throughout.
- Hosting, security, daily backups, bug fixes and support for the first year.
- An admin panel of your own, and a walkthrough of it at handover.
- Two rounds of revisions per stage.
- Everything yours to keep: the site, the content and all the data, exportable at any time. No lock-in, and no charge to leave.
Paid to somebody else, not to us
Listed here rather than discovered later.
- Your domain name — usually $12 to $20 a year, paid to the registrar and registered in your name so it stays yours.
- Payment processing, on a store only — typically around 2.9% plus 30¢ per transaction, paid to the processor.
After the first year
Optional, and the site is yours either way.
Website care — $199 a year
Hosting, security, backups, updates and support. About $16.58 a month.
Store care — $349 a year
The same for a store, where more moves and more can break. About $29.08 a month.
SEO support — $149 a month
Entirely optional, month to month. SEO is slow: real movement takes three to six months. Nobody can promise you a position, and anyone who does is selling you something else.
How we bill
Half to begin and half on completion, unless we agree something else in writing. One fixed price, agreed before anything starts. Nothing is ever billed by the hour, and no quote of ours is open-ended.
Anything paid for a stage we have not started comes back in full, within 5 to 7 business days.
Questions people ask first
What does a website cost?
$501 one time for a complete business website, with the whole of the first year included. An online store is $801. Those are the prices for our first 25 US clients; after that the same packages are $749 and $1,199.
Are there any other charges?
Two, and neither is paid to us: your domain name, usually $12 to $20 a year to the registrar, and on a store the payment processor's fee, typically around 2.9% plus 30¢ per transaction. Everything else — hosting, security, backups, bug fixes and support — is inside the price for the first year.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. One fixed price, agreed in writing before anything starts. Half to begin and half on completion, unless we agree something else in writing.
What if I want changes after we start?
Two rounds of revisions per stage are included. A redesign after you have signed off is quoted separately, as its own fixed price, so you always know what a change costs before you ask for it.
What happens if we stop halfway?
Anything paid for a stage we have not started comes back in full, within 5 to 7 business days. What has been built is yours.
